When I saw the skull itself, I just knew I had to do something with it. The coloring was so unique and the gold accents reminded me of kintsugi, which is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with a precious metal. I couldn't wait to get my hands on it to customize it. I played on the gold by adding the sword, bronze toned crown, and jewel eyes to increase the presence of the piece. Upon doing a little Google searching, I learned that many cultures throughout time, used the skull to symbolize joy, family, and faith. Often the skull is also used to celebrate life and other meanings; including power, strength, protection and change. To summarize the essence of all this, I named the piece "Victory Over Death." 💀
